This resort is surrounded by shops, restaurants, and beach rentals all within walking distance. A short drive away is Kapalua to the north and Ka’anapali to the south for more expansive shopping, dining, golf, and beaches.

The Royal Kahana has a beachfront swimming pool, beachfront BBQ area, complete on-site fitness room, ping pong table, shuffleboard, and an onsite Activities Center/Concierge. Across the street is Kahana Gateway Center, a small shopping center with restaurants such as the Maui Brewing Company. McDonalds, Whaler’s convenience store, a gas station, a coffee shop, souvenir shop, and ATMS are also located in the Center.

Parking:

Please keep in mind that while we do not charge a resort fee as most on Maui are now charging, this resort front desk has implemented a parking fee that is payable upon check-in at the resort. This is the only interaction you’ll have with the front desk.

Beach information

*The beach fronting the Royal Kahana experiences seasonal ocean current changes that influence the beach’s physical appearance and size. During the fall and winter, it is not uncommon that these currents sweep away a very large amount of sand, which will gradually return back in spring and summer, based on the ocean’s current activity. Our HOA, The County of Maui, and the State of Hawaii are working diligently to return Kahana Bay to its full potential.

This circumstance, unfortunately, affects the accessibility of our valued guests to the beach. While there may not be, at times, direct access from the property to the beach during the fall and winter season, there is a public beach access within 5 minutes walking distance. Photos taken on 1/16/2023 show useable beach, but this is not guaranteed.

This resort although oceanfront does not have useable beach year round. It has sandbags and depending on the tide the ocean may be right up against them with no sand exposed. There is a useable beach nearby and many more just a few minutes away. and sometimes at the resort next door. The Kahana area offers restaurants, beach gear rental, a coffee shop and lots of little shops all within walking distance. Close drive to Kapalua, Kaanapali, and Lahaina.
